Marriage Insurance?
In today’s Sunday Plain Dealer, there is an article about a new insurance company in North Carolina that provides marriage insurance. Yes, you read correctly – marriage insurance. Apparently, you can now pay a monthly premium that will cover some of your expenses if you end up getting divorced.
Can you imagine you and your soon-to-be spouse sitting down with a financial planner and talking about the excitement of planning your wedding, someday purchasing a home, having a family, but wait … let’s get marriage insurance first, just in case our dreams don’t come to fruition after all.
Instead of paying a monthly premium to insure you don’t lose your shirt in a divorce, how about socking money away for a time when you might need to get professional help to keep your marriage together!
